My own resources

I chose this as I'd also like to work in the industry and be producing work compared to turning in projects. I believe I am ready to work as i have reached a mature level where I feel I'd work better and socialize better in a location where I have a job role.

Self Evaluation

Personal Characterisitics: I am a go getter when it comes to work and life in general. I am determined, skillful, understandable, friendly, generous, hard working and more. I am a friendly person to work with and don't mind lending my time to people who need it. As well as this I am a great team player and do my best to contibute to a groups goal, with this in mind I am also a great leader as I can keep people on track with their specific goal while lending advice and support. I also work well as an idividual as well as I stay focused on my personal job and want to deliver something with a high visual and practical fashion.

Skills: In terms of equipment my skills would lie in filming with camera (experience 70D's DSLR and XA10) as well as this I can use a wide range of equipment from audio kit's and boom poles, tripods sliders and other stands, lights and more. As well as using the equipment I am proficiant in using editing softwares such as premier pro, photoshop and after effects and have dabbled in indesign.

Relevant achievments: In relation to this course I have had a good amount of acheivments, the first one that comes to mind is having my short film Dreamer entered into a short film festival. As well as this I've had the pleasure to also entre a music video into a short film festival. For the next projects I mention I did not recieve a physical prize or anything for them but I consider them acheivments in my mind. Creating comedic short films with my friend as well as creating a charcter and turning that into a YouTube series is a huge acheivment of mine. Helping other friends with their projects or filming screenings for them is also an achievement I hold dear.

Experience and Interests: For experience you only need to go through my website to get a taste of what I've been doing, I have filmed and created 1 short film, 5 live music sessions, 2 Live gigs, 2 short comedic sketches, 4 offical proffesional events/ lectures, a comedic YouTube series with 7 videos in it, 1 documentary and helped other on 5 different projects as well as helped year 11 students with a pitch. Intersts for me lie in movies I enjoy watching movies as much as I possibly can, even if they are just running in the back while I do something, so creating films and learning about films is a pleasure for me. I am also a massive music fan and have a very large selection of music I listen to, music helps me work as it gets me in a focused zone, as well as this music really helps and edit come together and give it an atmosphere it did not have before. Last but deffinetly not least is sports and physical activities. I enjoy these generlly but the fact that I am sitting down alot of the time to either edit work or a video I feel it's important to exersice the body.

Assistance: For assistance I have many members of the CLF staff and boomsatsuma staff to turn to in terms of questions and concerns about going into further education such as filmmaking at UWE. I will be able to asking them about anything I cannot find out about the course myself and use them as a way to contact the course leader and ask any questions I may have. Student finance is a website I will be able to use to learn more about the financial aspect of UNI. After getting the rquired grades needed to join the filmmaking course my portfolio will give a proffesional, competent and experienced impression to the head of the course and anyone else involved in the enrolment proccess.

Resources

Using this Youtube I can ger an insight to what like at UWE is like from students. I will find this very useful as I will learn things that the website might not add. I believe it is also important to see if from both sides.

UCAS

UCAS will be very important to me when aproaching uni as it holds a huge amount of information that will be important to learn.  I will use UCAS for many reasons, one reason would be sending my personal statment to UNIs I with to go to.

I will also be using UCAS for their other useful sources such as their tarrif calculator. This will be useful when looking at realistic courses to join and setting realistic goals. UCAS also help with looking for apprentiships, this is helpful as if I want to change the direction I am taking from UNI to a job this will help me look for jobs in the industry I want to work it as well as qualifications needed and more.

Student Finance

I will also be using the the student finance page on you.gov as it will be very helpful in terms of learning out to spend and save my money as well as advice for how to spread out my money. The finance aspect is very important and I need to understand the proceedings so learning about it of off the goverments website.

Personal Plan

My personal plan for joining the UWE course involves getting the grades rquired to join firstly, then after that writting my personal statment that will be sent to the enrolement staff who evaluate all the statments that are sent in to determine who will be able to joing the course. I will also need to get my information in order such as my student finance.

During the first year I'd like to use that time to set a solid base, what I mean by this is staying on top of work and getting involved in student projects that will help me progress after the course.

Year two is the year that I'd like to se the bulk of my work that i will have done, I want to use this year to create my portfolio that I will use and be adding to for many years to come.

Year three will be the year that I use to start opening doors with people in the media industry, I will use my teachers as well as people I have met on projects to get in contact with people in the industry working for companys such as ITV, BBC and more.
